Through an overarching lens or centralized topic, Introduction to Cinema course is a participatory and lecture formatted course that considers the exploration of film technique, industry practices, and narratives through feature length and short cinematic text. The course also investigates the many ways the world of film has evolved historically and globally, while accommodating the ever changing frontier of the digital age. Special sections of the class focus on such topics as US Latinx film, Black Cinema, Peace Conflict Studies, Avant-garde Cinema/Experimental Media and the Future of Cinematic Storytelling.
