At the Highland Campus Creative Digital Media Center, the developing Story Innovation Lab is an interdisciplinary and even “antidisciplinary” program collection of rotating classes exploring the possibilities of new and evolving forms of digital storytelling.  Classes within the lab’s ecosystem have a particular innovation focus, whether it’s a general education or projects class ranging from interactive filmmaking to industry leadership training, they often bringing together art, science and technology (sometimes with collaborating organizations, like on-site Austin PBS) with an eye towards the future, to include media projects which support community impact.

Nested under the Creative Collaborator Labs (Creative Co-Labs) program along with other Arts & Digital Media Division lab/project-based classes to further leverage the power of co-creative projects and wide-ranging perspectives, these classes are a safe place for students to explore their own developing voices, emerging technologies and storytelling approaches in practice.
