Courses Taught:

ENGL 2311: Technical Introduction Writing

Educational Background:

I received my Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Texas at Austin, went on to do master’s work in rhetoric and composition at Texas A&M and in Humanities from the University of Houston. I have completed all coursework for a Ph.D., but have not written my dissertation.

Field Experience:

I have been a technical writer in the advertising, training, aerospace, and computer industries. My favorite technical writing job was my time working for the Mission Operations Directorate at NASA in the 1980s, where I prepared training materials for Shuttle astronauts, flight controllers, and payload specialists.

Something Fun:

I teach remotely from Houston, where I live with my husband. We have a rescue dog named Skipper, who has grown WAY larger than I expected (61 pounds!), and a rescue cat named Mischief, whose name fits her!  In my free time, I do genealogy and play Dungeons and Dragons.
