ACC’s Game Art program can give you the tools training and industry skills to forge a career in 3D Modeling. Our program is designed and taught by veteran artists from the game development industry who have the experience, know how, and inside-track knowledge to help you frame your future as a game artist. Turn two-dimensional (2D) drawings into three-dimensional (3D) virtual experiences.

Students specializing in game art focus on a visual art career path within the game development industry. Courses provide a balance between technical skills and the development of strong design, modeling, and animation aesthetics. In our Game Art courses, students learn how to create game worlds, building environments, vehicles and props. Students learn the art pipeline, building models and surfaces from beginner to advanced skill level using the latest industry-standard software.

We offer both an Associate of Applied Science and Science and a Certificate in Game Design.

Austin is a blossoming city for gaming careers. Texas is the #2 ranking in employment of game development personnel. There are about 132 game companies in Texas and 82 of them in Austin according to GameDevMap.com. The blend of gaming, technology, arts, film, music and cost of living make Austin one of the most attractive areas for game production.

Austin hosts some of the largest Conferences, Festivals and Gatherings opportunities for game developers to showcase the current games and trends, share knowledge, participate in workshops and network for new job opportunities in the industry, such as SXSW: Game Expo (South-by-South West), Austin Game Conference, Austin Game Developer Beer Night!, Classic Game Fest, IDGA, and many more.
