Jin Young Cha
Jin Young Cha is the Administrative Assistant III for the Art Department. Since 2019, she has supported operations, faculty, and students with tasks related to accounting, facilities, safety, performance management, and academic records. She especially enjoys helping to improve infrastructure by acquiring needed tools and equipment and facilitating department events that build team culture. Before coming to ACC, Jin Young worked in human resources, training, and accounting. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Education from The University of Texas at Austin. In her spare time, she likes using her hands to make and fix things, fostering community as a Buy Nothing administrator, and caring for Austin’s nature preserves and parks. Jin Young is fascinated in how things are mechanically constructed and how the design of everyday objects influences the experience of a place or activity. Other fields she would like to explore are fiber arts and fashion design because they would allow for her to build soft sculptural forms that she can see in her imagination.
