Panoramic Voices, “That’s SO 90’s”
The ACC Music Department hosted Density512 and Panoramic Voices for a quirky-cool trip down memory lane as part of our Find Your Voice concert series. Directed by Juli Orlandini, Panoramic Voices is an adventurous choral collective that thrives on a “music without borders” approach to music making. With collaborations spanning all genres from classical, country, rock, hip hop, and beyond, PV has worked with a dizzying array of artists such as Mobley, Roky Erickson, Carson McHone, Calliope Musicals, Zeale, and Grammy Award-winners Roomful of Teeth. he ensemble has been widely recognized for its artistic endeavors, including “Best Choral Performance” from the Austin Critics’ Table, a cover story on Chorus America’s “The Voice” magazine, and regular listing among the Austin Chronicles “Top 10 Treasures.” In 2014, the Austin Chronicle dubbed Brent Baldwin (Panoramic Voice’s past Artistic Director) “Best Choral Wrangler” in its “Best of Austin” awards. The Austin American Statesman has hailed the group’s work as “always adventurous.” That’s So Nineties featured a broad array of popular songs from 1990-1999 re-imagined for choir and chamber orchestra.

Zack Burns – Zack Burns was a student of David Hummel at ACC. Zack was accepted to the University of North Texas this fall where he will continue his studies in Euphonium performance.
Jorge Castano – Jorge actively participated in many of the ACC Music Ensembles and productions throughout his time at ACC. Jorge earned his Associates Degree in Composition and was a student of Dr. Steven Sodders. He will continue his studies at Texas Tech University in the fall of 2025.
ACC Music Welcomes New Faculty
Hannah Durham is a musicologist whose research interests include popular music aesthetics, genre studies, audience studies, canonicity, and criticism. She received her PhD in Musicology from the University of Texas at Austin, with a dissertation entitled “The Past in the Present: Rock Ideology and Canon in the 1980s.” Dr. Durham has presented research on rock criticism and reception history, and has contributed to essays on college music curricula. Beginning in Fall 2025, she will serve as the Director of General Education – Music area within ACC’s Music Department, in which she will explore and develop the curricular possibilities of the Music Literature, Music Appreciation, and American Music courses. Additionally, Dr. Durham serves as High School Liaison for all dual credit music courses. She is excited about collaborating with fellow ACC music faculty to enhance the scope and depth of content in music history courses to advance an equitable and empowering student experience.
