ACC Choral Ensemble Auditions
All auditions for music majors will take place during their entrance audition. Students will be contacted by the director for call-back auditions. Choral Ensembles are open to new and existing non-majors. To schedule a preliminary audition please click the button below.
- All performers will be given a brief vocalization to test their range.
- A short sight-reading example, reminiscent of TMEA – you’ll have a short time before singing 8 measures.
- A listening or ear exercise, where you will be given a series of pitches or chords and then be asked to sing them back.
- In certain cases, you may be asked to provide a singing sample of your choice. This can be as simple as singing “Happy Birthday” without accompaniment, or as involved as singing an original song on your own instrument. The example should be 30 seconds or less. The idea is for us to hear you singing something on words in a style you feel comfortable and confident in.
Based off of the initial audition, you may be invited for a callback in the first week of classes.
