Want to work with design students?
The Visual Communication Department is part of ACC’s workforce education. We train students in practical skills to help them find employment when they graduate. We value community and business partnerships that support the success of our students and the quality of our instruction.
If you are interested in working with our students, there are several form that could take.
How you can work with our student designers
Become an Experiential Learning Client
Our Design Studio and UX Applied Lab courses are an opportunity for students to act as a design firm and work directly with clients on real world design projects. Typically, projects are completed over the course of one semester.
In the past our students have designed materials for the Elizabet Ney Museum, The Art Galleries at ACC, ACC RTF Student Showcase, and more.
Whether your project might be a good fit depends on the scope of your project and your timeline.
Post an Internship
Internships are a great way for students to earn credit while learning from real experience. If you’re interested in hiring an intern, consider the following:
- Students must work a minimum of 12–20 hours per week.
- Paid internships are preferred.
- The student’s direct supervisor should act as a creative director. Supervisors with professional design experience are preferred.
For more information, take a look at our Internship Employer Guide.
Post a Job or Freelance Opportunity
If you’re interested in hiring a student designer in any other capacity, you can submit your job, and we’ll amplify it to our students and grads via our LinkedIn group and our Jobs Bulletin email.
It is worth noting that we do not typically send out volunteer or unpaid opportunities, so this option works best if you have a budget in mind.
