Peir-ShiuanA native of Taiwan, Pianist Peir-Shiuan Tang is a versatile performer and dedicated educator. Peir-Shiuan has concertized throughout Taiwan and the United States. In 2014, She made her orchestral debut performing George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue with the Kaohsiung Senior High School Alumni Wind Orchestra. In 2020, she gave a solo recital at the 12th World Piano Conference. Peir-Shiuan is also a prizewinner of various competitions and scholarships, including American Protégé International Piano Competition, Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition, 2nd WPTA Finland International Piano Competition, and Mary Frances Bowles Couper Presidential Scholarship.

In addition to her work as a soloist, Peir-Shiuan enjoys performing as a collaborative pianist, appearing with chamber groups, vocalists, and instrumentalists. She is frequently invited as a guest artist to perform in instrumental recitals. Peir-Shiuan has participated in the International Summer Academy Mozarteum in Austria and International Academy of Music in France.

A dedicated educator, Peir-Shiuan has been working with students of all ages and levels, including learners with special needs. She currently serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Piano at Austin Community College. During her years as a DMA student at The University of Texas at Austin, she taught piano in group and one-on-one settings as a Graduate Assistant Instructor. Peir-Shiuan has presented in Music Teachers National Association National Conferences, and MTNA Collegiate Piano Pedagogy Symposiums.

Peir-Shiuan received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Taipei Municipal University of Education and earned her Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from The University of Texas at Austin under the tutelage of Gregory Allen.
