A native of Austin, Texas, Jacob Wise is a jazz guitarist with an open mind. He’s a graduate of the University of North Texas, where he received an M.M. in Jazz Studies, performed with UNT’s renowned One O’Clock Lab Band, and was a Graduate Teaching Fellow. He’s a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Lambda. Jacob has taught private guitar lessons and group classes for over 20 years, and his students have been accepted to music programs at the University of North Texas and the University of Southern California.

Jacob has performed all over Texas with a wide variety of jazz and rock groups, and also worked as a musician aboard Princess Cruise Lines for 4 years, visiting over 30 countries. He has released 2 CDs of original jazz compositions: “Paseo”, and “Jacob Wise Trio”, both available on Bandcamp. Jacob is a professor at Austin Community College, and stays busy performing and teaching in the Austin, TX area.
