SCHOLARSHIPS
The Drama Department offers several scholarships to qualifying students. The departmental scholarships listed below help drama students cover tuition, fees, supplies, and books.

ACC students are eligible for over 700 scholarship awards.
Everyone is eligible to apply (including non-residents and international students), and 1 in 4 applicants receive an award. The average award is between $1000-2000 and does not have to be repaid, unlike student loans.
Maximize your chances of being selected for a scholarship by meeting with an ACCelerator Student Support Specialist. Schedule your appointment to meet with a Student Support Specialist online or in person.
Students must submit a General Application to be considered for any ACC Scholarship.
Timeline
- January 15th the Scholarship General Application opens
- May 1st Scholarship General Application closes
- Student Applicants can make corrections, additions, or edits through May 1st
- Award notifications are sent via email in August to successful applicants
- Student Applicants will not receive notification unless selected

Boyd Vance Scholarship
Purpose: To assist African-American students enrolling in the ACC Dance or Drama program.
Criteria:
- Dance or Drama major.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED or 2.5 GPA for all college coursework.
- Scholarships are awarded on the basis of scholastic merit, artistic promise, and need for financial assistance.
Terms of Scholarship:
- Recipient chosen by Dance and Drama Department Scholarship Committee.
- Successfully complete a minimum of 2 courses towards a dance or drama degree plan (includes core classes) with a 2.5 GPA each semester.
- Scholarship applies to tuition, fees, books and required materials.
- Recipients must sign an agreement stating specific involvement with the Dance and Drama Department for at least one semester. This involvement may be through performance in technical production or in management and administration.
Dance & Drama Freshman Scholarship
Purpose: To assist incoming freshmen enrolling in the ACC Dance or Drama program.
Criteria:
- Dance or Drama major.
- Must have graduated high school within the last two years of application and not transferred from another college or university.
- Minimum 2.5/4.0 GPA or equivalent in high school.
- Awarded on the basis of scholastic merit, artistic promise and need for financial assistance.
Terms of Scholarship:
1. Recipient chosen by Dance and Drama Department faculty.
2. Successfully complete a minimum of 2 courses towards a dance or drama degree plan (includes core classes) with a 2.5 GPA each semester. One course must be a dance or drama studio course.
3. Recipients must sign an agreement stating specific involvement with the Dance and Drama Department for at least one semester. This involvement may be through performance, in technical production, or in management and administration.
4. Award must be used within the academic year awarded.
Dance & Drama Scholarship
Purpose: To assist students enrolled in the ACC Dance or Drama program.
Criteria:
- Dance or Drama major.
- Minimum 2.5 GPA for all college coursework.
- Completed 12 credit hours at ACC, including two courses in drama and/or dance. Awards are based partly on prior involvement with the Dance and Drama Department for at least one semester.
- Awarded on the basis of scholastic merit, artistic promise, and need for financial assistance.
Secondary Criteria:
• When scholarship selections are made, students with GPA’s of 3.0 will be awarded first. Students with GPAs lower than 3.0 will be awarded if there are remaining funds. These students will be prioritized by the selection committee.
Terms of Scholarship:
- Recipient chosen by Dance and Drama Department Scholarship Committee.
- Must be enrolled in at least 2 courses that count toward a dance or drama degree plan with a 2.5 GPA each semester.
- Scholarship applies to tuition, fees, books and required materials.
- Recipients must sign an agreement stating specific involvement with the Dance and Drama Department for at least one semester. This involvement may be through performance in technical production or in management and administration.
