Laura-Neill, MFA

Laura Neill is an Austin-based playwright and educator. She has taught courses on creative writing and theatre at Boston University, Emerson College, and Boston College, and currently teaches Intro to Theatre at ACC and writing at St. Edward’s University. Laura developed her play Winter People at the O’Neill National Playwrights Conference in Summer 2019. Previous commissions include Just Cause (SpeakEasy Stage Company, workshopped June 2019) and DIVAS (OperaHub, premiered June 2018). Other previous productions include Skin and Bones, workshopped with the Wilbury Theatre Group, and Don’t Give Up the Ship, premiered by Fresh Ink Theatre. Laura was an affiliate of the 2016 Company One PlayLab, and she was the WomenWorks playwright-in-residence at the University of Tulsa in 2017. She was a finalist for the Todd McNerney Award (The End Will Hurt) and winner of the Eleanor Frost Award (Conditions, Fall). She co-edited the New England New Play Anthology for StageSource.
