Originally from New England, Jamee graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.F.A. in Theatre. She has since completed her Master’s Degree in Theatre at Texas State University and at Nova Southeastern University she earned her Doctorate in Higher Education with an emphasis in Performance.
Jamee has worked in the Theatre world in Austin for over 30 years. She has enjoyed directing many professional and academic productions. Productions include: Having Our Say, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Wings, Shadow Box, Godspell, Grease, The Miracle Worker, Our Town, Nicholas Nickleby, I Never Saw Another Butterfly, The Shadow Box, The Crucible, Antigone and more.
Currently, Jamee has returned to ACC to teach Theatre. In addition, she was a long time Theatre instructor for Temple College, AISD and the Georgetown Palace Theatre.
For over 20 years, Jamee has also been active in Austin’s Film industry. For 12 years, she was the founder, producer and Executive Director of Austin’s Attic Film Festival. She has also produced and directed documentaries and short films. She has served as a Casting Assistant for Casting Agent Beth Sepko and Third Coast Extras working on productions such as: Second Hand Lions, Spy Kids III Video, Bad Santa, Texas Chainsaw Massacre II and PBS’s Photo Novelas. Jamee was also very honored to serve on the Board of Reel Women, an Austin branch of the non-profit organization for women in the film, television and video industries.
Jamee and her husband are long time partners at Austin Stone Community Church and life-long Spurs and Red Sox fans. Jamee is an accomplished Master’s Swimmer and skier. Jamee is also a staunch supporter of Austin Pets Alive and serves on the Board of The African Children’s Choir, Austin. Jamee wishes to thank ACC for having her back and allowing her to participate in the education and mentorship of it’s fine Theatre students.
