The Necessity of Truth: A Contribution to the National Day of Racial Healing <\/span><\/i>(2022)<\/span> is a bilingual (Spanish and English) publication that features artwork and interviews by Central and South Texas artists who explore themes of racial healing, social justice, and cultural awareness.\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

<\/span>Your support of this project will contribute to a print run of 500 copies of the publication. These copies will be distributed free of charge to area college students, community organizations, project partners, and to ACC and local libraries.\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

The goal of this project is to provide students with a resource that demonstrates how professional artists can address critical issues within our society through their artwork in sophisticated and impactful ways. The examples in the books show how artists channeled their intellectual ideas and emotions into positive and meaningful artworks. Throughout the book images of their artworks are accompanied by the artist\u2019s own words. Additional text about each artist\u2019s biography and artistic practice is included to more broadly contextualize the artwork. <\/span><\/h3>\n
