This eliminates the need for designers to access or modify <a title=\"Codebase\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Codebase\">game code<\/a>. As opposed to the level editing tools sometimes available to the community, level designers often work with placeholders and <a title=\"Software prototyping\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Software_prototyping\">prototypes<\/a> aiming for level consistency and clear layout before required <a title=\"Video game art\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Video_game_art\">artwork<\/a> is produced by game artists.
