Jonathan Young<\/strong> is an Assistant Professor of Drama at Austin Community College with over 20\u00a0years of leadership experience in nonprofit management, education, and the performing arts.Jonathan has taught theatre courses for Southwestern and Brandies Universities and founded\u00a0two successful nonprofit organizations, including a thriving youth sports organization and The
\nSkyDome Stage Company based in Pflugerville. He has also served as Artistic Director at\u00a0TexARTS and Interim Executive Director and Director of Education at The Georgetown PalaceTheatre.
\nIn addition to his nonprofit leadership roles, teaching, and producing experience, Jonathan is a\u00a0freelance director. Austin-area theatre directing credits include Footloose, Alexander and the nTerrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day, Mad Libs Live (Georgetown Palace), Rock of Ages\u00a0(TexARTS), and Your Old-Fashioned Classic Die Hard Radiocast (Penfold). Upcoming projects
\ninclude Urinetown (Bastrop Opera House) and Moscow Moscow Moscow Moscow Moscow\u00a0(The Stage Austin).
\nAs an actor, favorite stage credits include Katurian in the Pillowman, Eddie Carbone in a View\u00a0from the Bridge (Brandeis Theatre CO), Henry Higgins in Pygmalion (NY Theatre Alliance), Mat\u00a0Burke in Anna Christie and Jacob Marley in A Christmas Carol (Berkshire Theatre Festival). TV\u00a0credits include Mysteries at the Museum, On the Case with Paula Zahn, 30 Rock, The Onion
\nSports Network, and MTV\u2019S Girl Code. Austin area commercials include: Car2Go, TexPress\u00a0Lanes, Texas Mutual, and United Way of Williamson County. National spots include Time to\u00a0Schein (CBS Sports) and Ritz Crackers.<\/div>\n
Jonathan holds an MFA in Acting from Brandeis University and a BA in Dramatic Arts (dual\u00a0emphasis in Directing and Playwriting) and Psychology from the University of California, Santa\u00a0Barbara with a minor in Sports Management. He is a member of The Actors\u2019 Equity Association\u00a0and is a certified Actor\/Combatant through the Society of American Fight Directors.<\/div>\n
